Use License Plate Numbers to Perform Picking and Shipping Transactions
In this demo, I will show how to use LPNs in picking and shipping transactions. I have an order that I pick released, and I'm going to start picking the order using the Confirm Pick page.
I'm searching for the pick using the order number. The pick has three items. And the next step is to pick an item. To do that, you can either scan the item using the item barcode or click the item card.
First, I scanned a lot controlled item. The page displays the allocated lot if you want to use it for the pick. It also displays a field to capture the LPN if the subinventory and locator are LPN enabled.
I'm scanning the LPN that I picked. Once the LPN is successfully scanned and validated, it gets added to the list. If the pick requires more quantity, you can keep scanning LPNs until the requested quantity is picked. Now I'm confirming the pick.
Next, I'm scanning the serial controlled item. In this case, allocated serial numbers are displayed, if applicable. I'm scanning the LPN that I picked. The LPN is added to the list. I'm confirming the pick.
For the last item, I'm going to show how to pick a partial quantity from an LPN. I'm scanning the LPN that I picked. The LPN has 25 quantity, but the pick only requires 20. You will also see a banner message on top of the page, informing you that you're picking more than requested. To partially pick, click the LPN card.
A drawer opens where you can repack as part of the pick. Enter the LPN that you are using to pick the partial quantity. Enter the quantity that you picked. Click Repack.
Now the LPN card shows both the LPN that you picked from and the LPN that you picked into. Now I'm confirming the pick. All the lines are now picked. The next step is to ship the LPNs. I'm going to use the Ship Goods page to ship the LPNs.
There are a couple of ways you can ship LPNs. If the shipments are already created for the LPNs, you can use the shipment number to ship the LPNs. If the shipment isn't created, then you can simply scan the LPNs that you want to ship and confirm it, and the system will automatically create a shipment and ship it. I'm going to first show how to ship by shipment.
I'm scanning the shipment number. The shipment has two LPNs. To edit the LPN attributes or view the contents. Click the LPN card or scan the LPN. This is the content of the LPN. Now I'm confirming the shipment. The shipment is confirmed.
Now I'll show how to ship an LPN that is not assigned to a shipment number. To do that, I select Ship by LPN. I'm scanning the LPN that I want to ship. Now I'm confirming the LPN. Shipment gets automatically created for the LPN and then the shipment gets confirmed.
This concludes my demonstration. Thank you for watching.
