Esri ArcGIS 10.x to 11.x Upgrade Support - Batch Jobs and Migration Guide

In this release, two new batch jobs and a migration guide provide support to customers during their upgrade from Esri ArcGIS 10.x to 11.x, helping preserve the integrity of GIS-synced assets, asset locations, and work locations:

  • GIS Asset Location Data Export (W1GISALX)
    • This batch job extracts asset location records, including asset data, that have been synchronized with Esri. This enables customers to generate a file containing a current mapping of asset locations and their GIS global IDs before and after the Esri upgrade.
  • Legacy GIS ID Update (W1GISIDU)
    • ArcGIS upgrades (for example, to the Utility Network model) may replace global IDs. This batch job updates the global IDs in asset locations and work locations with the new values generated in Esri after the upgrade, ensuring these records remain accurately linked to their corresponding GIS features.
  • Migration Guide
    • The migration guide provides step-by-step instructions and best practices for transitioning the Esri ArcGIS integration during the upgrade from 10.x to 11.x. The migration guide is included in the product documentation delivered with this release.

These tools and documentation are designed for use during the Esri ArcGIS upgrade process, enabling customers to maintain data integrity and system synchronization as they transition to ArcGIS 11.x. By facilitating the review and update of key GIS data during the upgrade, customers can avoid synchronization issues and ensure an accurate, seamless integration in the new environment.
