Install and Configure the Ceridian Extract for Oracle Cloud Payroll

Ceridian provides an installation package and instructions for enabling the Ceridian Third-Party Tax Filing Extract for Oracle Cloud Payroll.

The installation package includes:

  • Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) Catalog archive file

Contains the BI Publisher Reports, XSL templates, and Data Models used to transform Oracle XML files to Ceridian XML files. The Catalog is unarchived to a Ceridian folder within the Shared\Custom folder on the OTBI server.

  • Oracle Cloud HCM Data Loader (HDL) file

Contains configuration data used by the Ceridian Extract. The configuration data is stored in Ceridian User-Defined Tables in Oracle Cloud.

For further info, see Ceridian Extract for Oracle Cloud Payroll User's Guide.

How you configure the HCM extract delivery options

Follow Ceridian's instructions on setting the HCM Extract delivery options for the Oracle Payslip and Third-Party Quarterly Tax Extract.

For further info, see Ceridian Extract for Oracle Cloud Payroll User's Guide.

How you configure the tax reporting units

You must configure your tax reporting units (TRUs) to map to Ceridian client keys. Work with Ceridian to determine the appropriate client key for each TRU.

To enter the client key:

  1. Start the Manage Legal Reporting Unit HCM Information task.

  2. Select Federal.

  3. In the Third-Party Interfaces section, enter the client key in Client Identifier.

For further info, see Configure Tax Reporting Units for the US in the Help Center.

How you maintain the extract

Ceridian delivers updates as legislative requirements change or the Oracle Cloud Payroll or Ceridian applications are enhanced. These updates can include:

  • Individual XSL templates

  • Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) Catalog archive files

  • HCM Data Loader (HDL) files

Updated XSL templates and Catalog archive files are uploaded to the OTBI server. HDL files are uploaded in the Oracle Cloud application.

The HCM Extract delivery options and TRU client identifier typically don't need to be updated as part of the extract maintenance.

Ceridian provides Release and Patch Notes with details on updates and instructions for applying the updates.
