Diminishing Value Report

This report shows all assets using a diminishing value depreciation method, a flat-rate method that uses the net book value as the calculation basis. This report is sorted by balancing segment, asset account, and asset number. It prints totals for each asset account and balancing segment.

You must enter a Book and Period when you request this report.

Selected Headings

Rate (%): The adjusted rate you assigned to your asset as a percentage.

Cost: The asset cost, or zero if you retired the asset during the fiscal year; the asset appears on this report until the end of the fiscal year.

Previous Years Depreciation: The cumulative depreciation for the asset for all prior fiscal years, or zero if you added the asset during this fiscal year.

Opening Net Book Value: The net book value at the beginning of the current fiscal year, or zero if you added the asset during the fiscal year. The net book value updates if you perform an amortized adjustment or revaluation.

Year-To-Date Depreciation: As of the accounting period you select.

Closing Net Book Value: The net book value at the end of the current fiscal year, or zero if you retired the asset during the fiscal year; the asset appears on this report until the end of the fiscal year.
