Modifying the Opportunity Arrival Date


If necessary, users can change the arrival and departure date information for an event opportunity, or remove the arrival date information.

This task is a step in Adding Details to the Event Opportunity.

To modify the arrival date in an opportunity

  1. Navigate to the Opportunities screen > Opportunity List view.
  2. In the Opportunities list, query for and select the opportunity.
  3. In the Opportunity form, click the calendar icon in the Arrival date field.
  4. In the Enter/Change Arrival Date dialog box, select a new date, and then select a value in the Instructions field.

    The Instructions values are:

    • Update Dates. If the user modifies the arrival date and selects Update Dates, the dates of the room blocks and functions that are associated with the opportunity change accordingly.
    • Update Day Numbers. If the user modifies the arrival date and selects Update Day Numbers, the dates of the function and room block remain the same as the original. The value in the Day Number field for each function and room block record is modified to reflect the new relationship between the opportunity arrival date and the function or room block date.

      NOTE:  When the arrival date is modified, the default action is to Update Dates.

  5. Click OK to save changes.

To delete the arrival date in an opportunity

  1. In the Opportunities list, query for the opportunity.
  2. In the Opportunity form, click the select button in the Arrival Date field.
  3. In the Enter/Change Arrival Date dialog box, delete the arrival date in the field, and select a value in the Instructions field.

    The Instructions values are:

    • Clear All Dates. If the user deletes the arrival date, and then selects Clear All Dates in the Instructions field, all room block and function dates associated with the opportunity are deleted.
    • Only Clear Arrival Date. If the user deletes the arrival date, and then selects Only Clear Arrival Date in the Instructions field, the dates and day numbers of the functions and room blocks remain unchanged.

      NOTE:  When the arrival date is modified, the default action is to Clear All Dates.

  4. Click OK to save the modification.
