Updating Negotiation Rates for a Quote


Negotiation rates for a quote are calculated from the opportunity when the quote is generated. The Negotiation Rates view allows the sales representative and event manager to see the average rates by weekend, weekday, and so on. This view also allows these users to give special discounts for sleeping rooms when the customer is bringing in a great deal of function space revenue. The Negotiation Rates - Manager view allows the event manager to change the floor negotiation rates for this specific quote if necessary.

This task is a step in Managing Event Room Block Information in Quotes.

To view and update room block negotiation rates

  1. Navigate to the Quotes screen > Quotes List view.
  2. In the Quotes list, query for and select the quote.
  3. In the Quote record, click the link in the Quote # field, and then click the Room Blocks view tab.
  4. Scroll down and click the Negotiation Rates view tab.
  5. Click Calculate Rates.
  6. Update the Negotiation Rate and Weekend Negotiation Rate fields if necessary.

    The values in the Negotiation Rate and Weekend Negotiation Rate fields are validated. The Negotiation Rate should be greater or equal to the Average Floor. The Weekend Negotiation Rate should be greater than the Weekend Floor.

To change the floor negotiation rates

  1. Navigate to the Quotes screen > Quotes List view.
  2. In the Quotes list, query for and select the quote.
  3. In the Quote record, click the link in the Quote # field, and then click the Room Blocks view tab.
  4. Scroll down, and click the Negotiation Rates - Manager view tab.
  5. Click Calculate Rates.
  6. Update the Avg Floor field and other negotiation rates as necessary.

NOTE:  Only the Revenue Manager should change the floor Negotiation Rates.
