Using Dynamic Filters in Siebel Answers


Filters can be combined with other filters, or they can be based on the values returned by another request. Such filters are called subfilters. You can select any saved request that returns columns of values and use any values in that request to filter the selected column in another request. The saved request can also reference a different subject area.

To base a filter on results of another request in Siebel Answers

  1. Display a request to which you want to add a filter.
  2. Select the column to use as criteria for the filter, and click the Filter icon.
  3. The Create/Edit Filter page appears.

  4. In the Additional Options section, click the Filter based on results of another request link.
  5. The Filter Saved on Request page appears. The name of the column to be filtered appears in the Column box.

  6. If this is not the table and column to be filtered, specify a different table and column.
  7. In the Relationship drop-down list, select a relationship.
  8. NOTE:  The relationship you choose is used to compare each value in the specified column with a group of values from another request that you specify.

  9. To navigate to a saved request, do one of the following:
  10. In the Use values in Column drop-down list, select the column from which to use values in the filter definition.
  11. Click Finished.
