Siebel Analytics Order Fulfillment Business Scenario

This scenario is an example of a process flow performed by an order fulfillment organization's vice president, plant manager, and line manager. Your organization may have a different process flow.

Vice President

To obtain a high-level view of the business, the vice president accesses the Executive dashboard every day to see an overview of the order pipeline and the top ten accounts. To obtain a different perspective of the state of the business, the vice president then views more detailed information about the top ten products. Finally, the vice president examines order pipeline details to gauge potential opportunity revenue.

Plant Manager

Every day, the plant manager assesses the orders that will probably require fulfillment. The plant manager accesses the Quotes and Orders dashboards to view information about the weekly order pipeline and the order volumes. This provides the plant manager with a high-level overview of the number of orders. This also provides information about pending revenue for orders of different types and at different stages of the order process. The plant manager then examines overview information about products with the highest revenue and order frequency.

To focus on potential problem areas, the plant manager accesses the Orders dashboard to analyze trends and to obtain specific information about late orders.

Line Manager

Every day, the line manager accesses the Orders Exception dashboard to view information about orders that require fulfillment that day and in the near future. The line manager accesses the Process Efficiency tab to examine information about order processing times and fill rates. These show trends over time and across regions, order type, status, and product line. The line manager uses this information to identify and resolve issues that are impeding performance.

The line manager then performs a high-level assessment of problem areas on the late orders report, and drills down to obtain more detailed information for issue resolution.
