employee benefits consultant

Consults with employers to analyze and design their employee benefits plans. These consultants usually do not sell insurance or retirement plan products, although some may be licensed agents or brokers.

English auction

Also called a Forward auction. The traditional and most popular auction type. An item is sold to the bidder who makes the highest bid. If multiple items are auctioned, all winning bidders pay their bid prices. Siebel eAuction includes AutoBid, a feature that acts as an auction bidder's agent. In an English auction, AutoBid raises bids by the bidder's chosen bid increment until the bidder's maximum bid amount is reached.

enterprise selling process (ESP)

The enterprise selling process (ESP) allows sales teams to penetrate, cover, and grow large strategic accounts, especially global accounts. By using ESP, sales teams can identify the customer's business drivers and objectives, uncover opportunities at other companies, develop global account strategies, manage key executive relationships, and take advantage of partner and marketing activities.

entitlement

(1) The services a customer receives based on a contract (often referred to as coverage). An entitlement defines service obligations by account, contract, or asset over a specific time period. (2) In field service, entitlement is a document that defines the level of support for specific accounts, contacts, and products, including the response time and the service level that customers can expect.

Entitlement metric

extension column

A column that may be used by a custom-configured Siebel application, but is not used by standard Siebel eBusiness Applications.

extension table

A special type of table that provides additional columns to a data table. The database product may support only a limited number of columns, or it may not allow adding a column to a table after it is populated with data. Siebel eBusiness Applications provide extension tables for most of their base tables. See also base table and extension column.

For outbound integration, it holds data coming out of the Siebel application after processing by the data transformation engine (DTE). For inbound integration, it holds data that goes into the Siebel application before processing by the DTE. See also data transformation engine (DTE).
