Creating an Auction Alert

To create an Auction Alert

  1. From the Auctions screen, click the Auction Alerts hyperlink.

    2. The Auction Alert Definitions list appears.

  2. Click New.

    3. The Auction Alert Definitions screen appears.

  3. Complete the following fields in the Auction Alert Definition screen with information about the type of auctions you want to find.

    4. Field
    Description
    Alert Name
    A description of your Auction Alert.
    Effective Start
    When you want the Auction Alert to begin searching for auction items.
    Effective End
    When you want the Auction Alert to stop searching for auction items.
    Keyword
    Auction Alert will search the Auction Name and Description fields of all auctions for this word. You can only use one word as a keyword.
    The search is not case-sensitive, and the keyword is automatically wild carded. For example, typing "car" as a keyword will return auctions containing "Car," "car," "racecar," and "cards."
    Auction Type
    Select if you want to search for only auctions, only RFQs, or both.
    Low Price and High Price
    Specify a range for the bid of an auction or auctions to be added to the Auction Alert. This amount is based on the current bid price in an auction.
    Currency
    Click the icon to change the currency from US dollars to a new currency.

  4. Click Continue.

    5. The Catalogs screen appears.

  5. If you want to limit your Auction Alert to specific catalogs and categories, select a catalog from the Catalogs list.

    6. The Categories screen appears.

    NOTE:  If you want your Auction Alert to search all catalogs and categories, click Done. The Auction Alert Definition Detail screen appears.

  6. Select the categories you want to search and click Select.

    7. The categories are added to the Search Categories list.

    NOTE:  To return to the Catalogs screen to select a different catalog, click the Select Catalog hyperlink above the Categories list.

  7. Click Done.

    8. The Auction Alert Detail screen appears.

  8. Click the Auctions tab to return to the Auctions screen.
