Defining Lister Fees


As global administrator, you determine the fee structures for the entire auction site. These fees are catalog-specific and apply only to third-party listers. For all fees, an email confirming the amount charged to the credit card will be sent to the auction lister.

To add lister fees

  1. From the Catalog Administration screen, select the catalog to which you want to add lister fees.
  2. NOTE:  The catalog must have a Catalog Type of Buying before you can add fees.

  3. Click the Auction Lister Fees tab.
  4. Click for full size image

  5. Click New.
  6. A New Auction Lister Fee record appears.

  7. Complete the following fields as needed.

    Name
    A description of the auction fee.
    Type
    Choose from Commission, Featured Item, Image, Listing, Reposting.
    Terms
    Choose from a flat charge or a percentage (you can only use a percentage for Commission fees).
    Charge
    The amount of the flat fee or the percentage.
    Auction's Lower Range Price
    The fee range for a listing, reposting, or image fee will be based on the auction's starting price, while the fee range for a commission will be based on the auction's closing bid price. If you want to base the fee amount on the item's price, enter the lowest amount for the auction item price. See the following Note.
    Auction's Upper Range Price
    The fee range for a listing, reposting, or image fee will be based on the auction's starting price, while the fee range for a commission will be based on the auction's closing bid price. If you want to base the fee amount on the item's price, enter the highest amount for the auction item price. See the following Note.

    NOTE:  You can choose to vary a fee amount based on the item's sale price. For example, you might want to charge a lister a 15% commission fee if the sale price of an item is less than $100, a 10% commission fee if the sale price is between $100 and $1000, or a 5% commission fee if the sale price is greater than $1000. You might choose to vary listing fees based on the item's price. For example, a $2 listing fee for items ranging in price from $0-$20, a $4 listing fee for items ranging in price from $21-$50, a $6 listing fee for items ranging in price from $51 to $100, and so on.

  9. To activate a fee, select the fee from the Auction Lister Fees tab and click Activate/Deactivate.
  10. A check is added to the Active column.

    NOTE:  To edit a fee, select the fee from the Auction Lister Fees tab, make your changes, and click Save.

  11. To deactivate a fee, select the fee from the Auction Lister Fees tab and click Activate/Deactivate.
  12. The check in the Active column is removed.

    NOTE:  To delete a fee, click the menu button on the Auction Lister Fees tab and choose Delete Record. The fee is removed from the tab.
