Siebel eSales Administration Guide > Using Third-Party Taxation Applications > Handling Unicode Conversion Errors >
Error Prevention
If non-ASCII characters are entered into a required field, an error will be generated during the codepage conversion. The error is contained in the Error Message field of the integration object. The order will not be stopped by an error, but tax will have to be calculated manually by an employee. It is therefore important to:
- Generate guidance messages and error messages to prevent customers from entering non-ASCII characters in a required field. A list of required fields is given in Table 28.
- Only use lists of values that contain ASCII-compliant values.
