About Oracle Distributed Document Capture

Oracle Distributed Document Capture is an internet distributed document capture application that provides browser-based document scanning and indexing at remote locations. Its client component is automatically downloaded and installed as soon as you connect to the server. Use the client application for the following main tasks:

Main Task Description
Scan and import batches Scan batches of documents using settings saved by administrators in scan profiles. Depending on the profile, you may scan using a variety of methods, such as duplex or separator sheet scanning. You can also import images.
Review and index batches Review and, depending on scan profile, index documents. To ensure standard input, index fields may use input masks/formatting, pick-lists, or external database lookups. Editing options allow you to move pages between documents, append and rotate pages, and create, copy, and paste documents.
Send batches In a single step process, send one or more batches to the server, which receives and processes them, then typically commits (archives) the documents along with their index values into a content management system.
