Securing AquaLogic Pages

This chapter describes how to secure Pages functionality and objects through special Pages portal groups and through roles granted to portal users and groups on LiveSpaces and DataSpaces.

Pages Portal Groups

There are several portal groups created when you import the Pages migration package:

Table 7-1 Pages Portal Groups
Group
Description
Pages Users
Allows members to see the Pages user interface. Any user you want to use the Pages application needs to belong to this group.
When you create a new LiveSpace or DataSpace, the Pages Users group is granted the Guest role by default. To learn about roles, see Pages Roles.
Pages Administrators
Allows members access to all areas and full control of all objects in Pages.
The Pages Administrators group is granted the Administrator role on all LiveSpaces and DataSpaces. To learn about roles, see Pages Roles.
DataSpace Creators
Allows members to create new DataSpaces. Allows members to see the Create a New DataSpace link in the Dashboard.
LiveSpace Creators
Allows members to create new LiveSpaces. Allows members to see the Create a New LiveSpace link in the Dashboard.

Pages Roles

You secure Pages objects at the LiveSpace and DataSpace level by assigning roles to users and groups. The roles apply to the LiveSpace or DataSpace as well as any associated objects (for example, pages in a LiveSpace or records in a DataSpace). The Administrator user and the Pages Administrators group are assigned the Administrator role for all LiveSpaces and DataSpaces; these role assignments cannot be changed. By default, the Pages Users group is assigned the Guest role to all LiveSpaces and DataSpaces, but you can change this role assignment if desired.

Note: The following privileges are additive, meaning that the Reviewer role includes the privileges granted to the Guest role as well as additional privileges.
Table 7-2 Pages Roles

For example, if a user creates a record and another user adds an image to the record, the user that created the record could edit or delete the image.

Note: Editing includes: attaching, reverting, and deleting documents; adding components; and reverting to a previous version of the page view.
