The tmadmin command is an interpreter for 53 commands that enable you to view and modify a bulletin board and its associated entities. The following illustration shows you how a typical tmadmin session works.

Monitoring Your System Using tmadmin Commands

Following is a list of run-time system functions that you can monitor with tmadmin commands:

Number of servers installed in a service
Appropriate load distribution
If a particular service is doing any work
Inactive clients
If distribution of work is flowing smoothly through the system
If a client is tying up a connection and preventing a server from doing any work for another client
Stability of network
If you must manually commit or abort a transaction
Sufficient operating system resources (such as shared memory and semaphores) on a local machine
