Tru64 UNIX V5.1B requires vendor patches. Use the following instructions to obtain and apply the required patches:
Note: Requires HP Tru64 UNIX with 5.1B with PK2 (BL22) installed.
Could not allocate code space: Successful, file /sys/alpha/md.c, line 134
As a workaround, add the following -Xnoprecompiledsys
option to your WebLogic Server startup script.
The symptom of the problem is an unresolved symbol (OCILobLocatorAssign
in the libclntsh.so
library) when WebLogic attempts to invoke it. This problem occurs because the file $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/shrept.lst
does not list every function in rdbms that is directly callable by user code.
This list is used by the genclntsh.sh
script when building the client shared library libclntsh.so.
Note: Some other functions that should be callable, such as OCIEnvCreate
and OCIerminate
are also absent, though these are not required for WebLogic 6.1. Other applications may require them. They may be added using the same mechanism.)
This problem is fixed in Oracle 9i, but a workaround is needed with Oracle 8.1.7. To apply the workaround, perform the following steps:
Nodemanager functionality is not supported in this release. The workaround is to start the managed nodes manually.
The maximum size of the Process Data Segment should be increased from the default value of 128MB to at least 256MB. For a dedicated web server, a higher value of 1GB is recommended. This can be set with the following Tru64 command:
An Oracle workaround may be required when using BEA WebLogic Driver for Oracle with the Oracle8i Server - Enterprise Edition 8.1.7 and the corresponding Oracle Call Interface (OCI). The symptom of the problem is an unresolved symbol (OCILobLocatorAssign

library) when WebLogic attempts to invoke it.

BEA has included new versions of the plug-in binaries that solve a Tru64 UNIX incompatibility problem. The version of the .so file you are using must match the version of Tru64 you built Apache against. The shared objects are:
mod_wl_v40f.so
, mod_wl_ssl_v40f.so
for Apache built against Tru64 Unix 4.0f, or higher versions in the 4.x linemod_wl_v51.so
, mod_wl_ssl_v51.so
for Apache built against Tru64unix 5.1, or higher versions in the 5.1 line If you are using HP's Internet Express or Secure Web Server Version 5.6 you will need to contact HP for a patch or to upgrade to a higher version. Then you will be able to use the mod_wl_v51.so
and mod_wl_ssl_v51.so
Apache binaries. For more information on Secure Web Server or Internet Express, see http://h30097.www3.hp.com/internet/prod_sol.htm.

A problem with buffers was encountered and has been logged as issue 37423. On HP Tru64 Unix, the default buffer size is 9K; WebLogic Server sometimes send fragments of size up to 32K. This difference can cause an IOException. Although this has been found to occur on HP Tru64 Unix, other platforms may also experience similar problems.
To avoid difficulties, increase the sending as well as receiving side buffer space. On HP Unix these
parameters are called udp_sendspace
and udp_recvspace
.
