About Supported Character Sets

This topic provides information about the non-Unicode (traditional) and Unicode character sets supported for Siebel Business Applications. It contains the following information:

• Non-Unicode (Traditional) Character Sets
• Unicode Character Set

In this guide, the terms character set and code page are used to cover closely related concepts used by the various platform vendors.

NOTE:  Siebel Business Applications do not support any character that has been added to a font by mapping it to an open code point that is not within an official character set extension area, such as the Private Use Area (PUA) of Unicode.
