Requirements for Stopping and Starting the Web Server

At various points in the process of installing and configuring the Siebel Web Server Extension, you might be required to stop the Web server, perform certain tasks, and then restart the Web server. Or you might only have to restart the Web server. The SWSE Configuration Wizard also stops and starts the Web server automatically, as needed.

For example, you have to stop the Web server before installing the current release as a migration installation, and you have to restart the Web server after completing this installation. For more information about when you might have to restart the Web server, see Restarting the Web Server. See also the third-party documentation for the Web server product.
