About Supported Siebel Upgrade Paths

Supported upgrade paths are described in Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Oracle Technology Network. This guide describes how to upgrade the following installations:
- A Siebel CRM 7.x installation to Siebel CRM 8.1
In this version of the guide, Release 7.x refers collectively to all versions of Siebel CRM Release 7 from which you can upgrade directly to Siebel CRM version 8.1, that is, versions 7.5.3 and higher. Release 7.x does not refer to versions of Siebel CRM Release 7 earlier than version 7.5.3. You cannot upgrade directly from Siebel CRM releases earlier than 7.5.3 to Siebel CRM version 8.1.
- A Siebel CRM 8.0 installation to Siebel CRM version 8.1.
NOTE: If you have migrated your Siebel CRM 8.0 z/OS database to Unicode format, you cannot upgrade to Siebel CRM 8.1. Unicode upgrades are not supported on the z/OS platform in Siebel CRM 8.1.
