About Unicode Support

Previous releases of Siebel Business Applications supported ASCII- and EBCDIC-based coded character set IDs (CCSIDs) on DB2 for z/OS. Since Siebel CRM 8.0, Unicode is also supported on DB2 for z/OS version 8 and later releases. You can migrate your Siebel database from an EBCDIC or ASCII code page to a Unicode encoding system but this process is not part of the standard Siebel CRM 8.1 upgrade procedure. A separate migration procedure for migrating to Unicode is performed on the DB2 host after you have upgraded to Siebel CRM 8.1. NOTE:  If you have migrated your Siebel CRM 8.0 z/OS database to Unicode format, you cannot upgrade to Siebel CRM version 8.1. Unicode upgrades are not supported on the z/OS platform in Siebel CRM 8.1.
