rsMakeFromString

Creates a single-column ResultSet from a string.

Type and Usage

Parameters

Takes two required parameters and one optional parameter:

  • The first parameter is the name of the ResultSet to be created.

  • The second parameter is a comma-delimited list of strings to be parsed (such as a,b,c,d), or a variable that has a comma-delimited string as its value.

  • The third optional parameter is the name of the ResultSet column. If no value is specified, the column name defaults to row.

Output

Creates a ResultSet with one column, populated by the specified string values.

Example

Creates two ResultSets called StringA and StringB:

<$stringa = "a,b,c,d"$>
<$rsMakeFromString("StringA", stringa)$>
<$rsMakeFromString("StringB", "A,B,C,D", "name")$>
<table border=2>
    <tr><td>StringA</td><td>StringB</td></tr>
    <tr>
        <td><$loop StringA$><$row$><br>
        <$endloop$></td>
        <td><$loop StringB$><$name$><br>
        <$endloop$></td>
    </tr>
</table>

The ResultSets would look like the following.

@ResultSet StringA
1
row
a
b
c
d
@end
@ResultSet StringB
1
name
A
B
C
D
@end

The resulting HTML would look like the following.

Stringa Stringb
A A
B B
C C
D D
