Previously, the MySQL Server installation included a feature named Server Data Files, which was enabled by default. This feature was required to configure MySQL as a Windows service for older server versions. Now, the MSI file for MySQL Server 8.0.21 (and higher) initializes the server directly, without using the feature. Similarly, MySQL Installer 1.4.35 (and higher) excludes the Server Data Files check box from the Select Products and Features step when the MSI file omits the feature. (Bug #23154065)

Support for InnoDB Cluster configuration within MySQL Installer is disabled. All configuration operations associated with a production InnoDB Cluster or a sandbox InnoDB Cluster (for testing) now can be performed using MySQL Shell. (WL #14040)

After selecting an installed MySQL product to upgrade, the Changes link shown on the page was not active and did not open the associated release notes. In some cases, such as when upgrading Samples and Examples, the Changes link incorrectly indicated the presence of release notes. Now, the Changes link for each product is active and the link is removed when release note are not available. (Bug #30397090)
