Dynamic Discovery of SAS Devices

Adding and removing SAS devices is performed dynamically when using the mpt(7d) driver. You are no longer required to edit the sd.conf file to enable your system to detect specific targets and LUNs attached with the mpt driver. See mpt(7d) for more information.

If you add or remove a device in your SAS domain, messages will be written to the /var/adm/messages file indicating presence or removal. If a device has been added, it is visible to and available by the format(1m) command.
