Preface
This guide explains the product concepts, planning phases, deployment topologies, and high availability features of the Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition 8.1. Read this guide before deploying (installing) the Application Server in a large-scale production environment, particularly when multiple machines are involved. This guide covers features that are available only in the Enterprise Edition of the Application Server.
Who Should Use This Guide
The information in this guide is intended for system administrators who want to deploy (install) and support a large system that has high availability requirements.
Application Server administrators and software developers should already understand the following technologies:
