Monitoring the 5800 System Using the GUI |
This chapter describes the GUI functions you can use to monitor the 5800 system. For descriptions of fields on the GUI screens, click the Help button from the screen.
For information on using CLI commands to monitor the system, see Monitoring the System Using the CLI.

This section includes procedures for using the GUI to monitor the overall 5800 system.
To Display Failed Components |
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed, providing a graphical representation of every cell in the system.
2. Place your cursor over the image of a cell that has a red light or red rectangle displayed.
The component ID, its status, and its field-replaceable unit identifier (FRU ID) are displayed in the window.
To Displaythe System Space Usage |
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed, providing space usage values in the Total Capacity and Total % Capacity Used fields.
To Display System Performance Statistics |
From the navigational panel, choose Monitoring > View Performance Statistics.
The View Performance Statistics panel is displayed.
To Display the Environmental Status |
You can view environmental status, including temperature and voltage information, about system components.
1. \From the navigational panel, choose Monitoring > View Environmental Status.
The Environmental Status panel is displayed.
2. Choose the search criteria from the drop-down list boxes.
The environmental status of the components that meet your search criteria is displayed in the table.
This section includes procedures for using the GUI to monitor information about cells.
To Displaythe System Software Version on a Cell |
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed, with the system software version value in the Cell ID Summary Cell Version field.
To Display the Nodes in a Cell |
From the navigation panel, choose Cells > Cell ID.
The Cell Summary panel is displayed, listing the nodes in the selected cell.
To Display the Disks in a Cell |
From the navigation panel, choose Cells > Cell ID > Disks.
The Disks Summary panel is displayed, listing the disks in the selected cell.
To Display the Cell IP Addresses |
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed, listing the administrative and data IP addresses used by each cell.
Note - To see the IP address of the service node, place your cursor over the service node in the illustration of the cell. |
This section includes procedures for using the GUI to monitor nodes and disks.
To Display the FRU ID of a Node |
From the navigational panel, choose Cells > Cell ID.
The Cell Summary panel is displayed, listing the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) IDs of the nodes in the Node FRU ID column.
To Display Node Space Usage |
From the navigational panel, choose Cells > Cell ID.
The Cell Summary panel is displayed, listing the nodes in the selected cell and their percentage of space used.
To Display the Node Status |
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed.
2. Place your cursor over the image of the cell for which you want to view node status.
3. Determine whether the node is online or offline.
To Display the Disks in a Node |
From the navigational panel, choose Cells > Cell ID > Nodes > Node ID.
The Node Status panel is displayed, listing the disks in the node.
To Display Disk Statistics |
You can display the disk node, disk identifier, status, space usage, and field-replaceable unit identifier (FRU ID) of a disk.
The Status at a Glance panel is displayed.
2. Place your cursor over the image of the cell for which you want to view disk statistics.
3. Determine the disk statistics using the following table.
