This chapter explains how to use Live Upgrade, a feature of Oracle Solaris, to upgrade and activate an inactive boot environment.
Note - This chapter describes Live Upgrade for UFS file systems. The usage is the same for the luupgrade and luactivate commands for a ZFS boot environment. For procedures for migrating a UFS file system to a ZFS root pool or creating and installing a ZFS root pool, see Chapter 13, Creating a Boot Environment for ZFS Root Pools.
