Live Upgrade (Planning)

This chapter provides guidelines and requirements for review before installing and using the Live Upgrade, a feature of Oracle Solaris. You also should review general information about upgrading in Upgrade Planning in Oracle Solaris 10 8/11 Installation Guide: Planning for Installation and Upgrade.


Note - This chapter describes Live Upgrade for UFS file systems. For planning information for migrating a UFS file system to a ZFS root pool or creating and installing a ZFS root pool, see Chapter 12, Live Upgrade for ZFS (Planning).
