Retrieve The Product Information on a Sun x86 Server Module

  • At the command prompt, type the following:
    • On a Linux system:

      snmpwalk -v 2c -c public -M /usr/share/snmp/mibs/ -m ALL localhost sunHwMonProductGroup

    • On an Oracle Solaris 11.1 system:

      snmpwalk -v 2c -c public -M +/usr/lib/ssm_directory/lib/mibs/ -m ALL localhost sunHwMonProductGroup

      Where ssm_directory is either sun-ssm or ssm, depending on your version of Oracle Hardware Management Pack.

    • On an Oracle Solaris 10 system:

      snmpwalk -v 2c -c public -M +/opt/ssm_directory/lib/mibs/ -m ALL localhost sunHwMonProductGroup

      Where ssm_directory is either sun-ssm or ssm, depending on your version of Oracle Hardware Management Pack.

    You should see output similar to the following:

    SUN-HW-MONITORING-MIB::sunHwMonProductName.0 = STRING: Sun Blade X6250 Server Module

    SUN-HW-MONITORING-MIB::sunHwMonProductType.0 = INTEGER: blade(4)

    SUN-HW-MONITORING-MIB::sunHwMonProductPartNumber.0 = STRING: 540-7254-01

    SUN-HW-MONITORING-MIB::sunHwMonProductSerialNumber.0 = STRING: 142300943223
