Creating Unique Credentials for Oracle Commerce Servers

For Oracle Commerce servers that share an OPSS installation, you can set up a separate credential wallet for any given server, allowing you to have a unique set of credentials for that particular server. This allows you to limit the credentials that are stored to only those credentials that the server needs to do its tasks.

To create a separate credential wallet for an Oracle Commerce server using CIM:

  1. In the CIM MAIN MENU, select [2] Configure OPSS Security.

  2. In the SECURITY DEPLOYMENT MENU, select [1] Update the location to deploy OPSS files.

  3. Enter the location for the wallet at the Enter Shared Path prompt. This location must be accessible through a file system path on the server where CIM is running.

  4. From the SECURITY DEPLOYMENT MENU, select [3] Deploy configuration files.

  5. Confirm the deployment. You are notified after the files are successfully deployed.

  6. Complete your server configuration in CIM then, after the server is started, use the Dynamo Server Admin to add and delete credentials, as described below.

To manually create a separate credential wallet for an Oracle Commerce server:

  1. Stop the server.

  2. Under the localconfig directory for the server, create or open the /atg/dynamo/server/OPSSInitializer.properties file and set the following property:

    # user {atg.dynamo.home} for the Dynamo home directory
    JPSConfigurationLocation={atg.dynamo.home}/security/jps-config.xml

  3. To deploy an initial minimal set of OPSS files, copy the contents of the directory DYNAMO_HOME/.../CIM/data/security directory to the location configured in the previous step.

  4. Restart the server.

  5. Use the Dynamo Server Admin to add and delete credentials, as described below.

To enter security credentials in the Dynamo Server Admin:

  1. In a browser, navigate to the instance of the Dynamo Server Admin that is running on the server you want to set credentials for:

    http://<server_host>:<server_HTTP_port>/dyn/admin

  2. In the authentication dialog box, enter the Dynamo Server Admin username and password click OK.

  3. (WebLogic only) Depending on how you configured your environment, WebLogic may require an additional login for the WebLogic server. If necessary, enter your WebLogic username and password, and then click OK.

    You see the ATG Administration home page.

  4. Click the Component Browser link.

  5. Navigate to /atg/dynamo/security/opss/csf/CredentialStoreManager.

  6. From the Action drop-down menu, choose the type of credential you want to create and then click Select.

  7. Enter the credentials details, then click Submit Credentials.

To delete an existing REST security credential:

  1. In a browser, navigate to the instance of the Dynamo Server Admin that is running on the server whose credentials you want to delete. See the previous section for detailed instructions on how to do this.

  2. Click the Component Browser link.

  3. Navigate to /atg/dynamo/security/opss/csf/CredentialStoreManager.

  4. From the Action drop-down menu, choose Delete Credential and then click Select.

  5. Select the credential you want to delete.

  6. Click Delete Credential.
