Oracle® Real User Experience Insight

Release Notes

13.2.1.1 for Linux x86-64

E74827-01

August 2016

Oracle Real User Experience Insight (RUEI) provides you with powerful analysis of your network and business infrastructure. You can monitor the real-user experience, define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and trigger alert notifications for incidents that violate them.

RUEI is a Web-based utility to report on real-user traffic requested by, and generated from, your Web infrastructure. It measures the response times of pages and user transactions at the most critical points in your network infrastructure. An insightful diagnostics facility allows Application Managers and IT technical staff to perform root-cause analysis.

This document provides information about the changes introduced to Oracle Real User Experience Insight (RUEI) in release 13.2.1.1. Known issues and limitations are also described. It is recommended that you review its contents before installing the product or upgrading to this version of the product.

This document contains the following sections:

1 New Features Included in Release 13.2.1.1

This release includes the following new features:

1.1 Improved Processing Performance

This release improves overall processing by calculating KPIs in parallel and limiting the number of resources for session context.

1.2 IPv6 Support

This release supports reporting of IPv6 addresses and geo-location information, originated from a CDN provider headers.

For more information, see Section 2, "Known Issues and Workarounds".

Note:

This release does not support monitoring or running on an IPv6 network.

1.3 Client Device Ruling

This release supports addition of ruling to override the client device dimension. For more information regarding impact on client reporting, see the Using the Ruling Facility of the Oracle Real User Experience Insight User Guide.

1.4 KPI Config Overview

This release presents a ”KPI preview” box while configuring a KPI and shows the active period value.

For more information, see the Applying Threshold Values to a KPI of the Oracle Real User Experience Insight User Guide.

2 Known Issues and Workarounds

The following issues are associated with this release:

2.1 Client Location/Region Dimension

The technical and translated values are changed as follows:

  • Filters and configurations on dimension level in for example reports or KPIs must be updated to match new data.

  • During upgrade, this is automatically done for regions that are present in both old and new database. It notifies on entries which were not updated automatically.. For more information see, Modifying Client Location Reporting of the Oracle Real User Experience Insight User Guide.

2.2 Client Network and Client Location dimensions

The Client Network and Client Location dimensions can no longer be used to recognize Private network, instead the Client Named Location should be used. Also, you should update filters and other configurations.

2.3 Session Context Changes

The session information when selecting more than a single day is now fetched from the same entity table as a single day using aggregated data on started sessions. This may cause small changes in session counters of sessions crossing the day boundary. For more information, see Session-Based data of the Oracle Real User Experience Insight User Guide.

3 Upgrade Support Versions

This release supports upgrading from 13.1.x.x versions.

When upgrading 12.1.x.x, you should upgrade from 13.1.x.x version first.

When upgrading 11.1.x, you should upgrade from 12.1.x.x version first followed by an upgrade of 13.1.x.x.
