This chapter describes how you can use the Search and Navigation REST API to configure several of the features that enable shoppers to search for product data in the storefront. All configurable search resources can be accessed through URLs, in either ZIP format or JSON format. The URLs are the same, regardless of the format used to access them.

For a convenient online summary of the Search and Navigation REST API, refer to the REST API for Oracle Commerce Cloud Service.

This chapter also describes how to export and import the configuration of relevance ranking strategies in XML format; these strategies determine the order of product records in search results.

Important: Oracle recommends that you not modify the configuration of search features unless you are an advanced user and have requirements that you cannot meet in any other way. Oracle also recommends that you not attempt to modify any search features other than those described in this chapter. Note that some search features can be configured by the merchandiser, as described in Using Oracle Commerce Cloud Service. Consult this guide before deciding to configure search features as described in this chapter.
