Defining Revenue Classification Rules
To define revenue classification rules:
1. Open the Classification Rules window.
By default, choose Classification Rules from the Setup menu.
2. For Ruleset, specify a name for your set of classification rules.
Note: Oracle Sales Compensation currently has only one ruleset named by default Classification Ruleset.
3. Choose Rules to define your revenue classification rules.
4. In the Ruleset Structure region of the window, navigate to the level in the hierarchy for which you want to define rules.
Start with the topmost rule in the hierarchy, which typically has no conditions, and define the rules for each of its children. Choose the Parent and Children buttons to navigate the hierarchy:
- To see lower levels in the hierarchy, select a child; then choose Children. The child rule you selected becomes the parent rule and the children of this parent rule are displayed.
- To see higher levels in the hierarchy, select the current parent rule and choose Parent. The parent rule you selected becomes a child rule and is displayed with its siblings, and their parent rule is displayed at the top of the region.
Suggestion: Name your rules after the revenue classes they describe. For example, in Global's case, the top-most rule in the hierarchy represents a revenue class named All, so Global names that rule All.
5. Define attributes for your rules.
