Specific topics discussed are:
Using Oracle
Universal Installer
Oracle Universal Installer automatically installs the Java
Runtime Environment (JRE). The JRE is a subset of the Java Developer Kit
(JDK). To run Java applications, you need the JRE. To develop Java applications,
you need the JDK.
If you need assistance, click the Help button from any window

Typically, you run Oracle Universal Installer in interactive
mode. However, advanced users (such as database administrators) can also
run the installer in non-interactive or silent mode, using a response file.
This is a text file containing variables and values used by Oracle Universal
Installer during the installation process. Using the silent installation
enables you to bypass the graphical user interface (GUI) and install Oracle
products in silent mode.
To use a response file, modify the response file template
which is located in the \Response folder located at the root of
the Oracle8i Enterprise Edition CD-ROM. See the accompanying readme.txt
file for more information.

drive or directory, replace C:\WIN32APP\NSR\BIN above with the correct
drive and pathname, where the pathname always ends in \BIN.
-
Click OK.
-
Restart your computer for all changes to take effect.
