What's New

This release enhances Oracle AD4J Java agent to support many JVMs versions on different platforms. Following are the new JVM versions and platforms Oracle AD4J Java agent support for new JVMs and Platforms.

New Application Servers

Enhanced Oracle AD4J Java agent to support Oracle Application Server 10g Standalone OC4J.

Bundle Content

This bundle contains the Oracle AD4J Console for installing on three main platforms:

Each console bundle contains the agents for all supported platforms. The Windows directory also contains upgrade.zip for upgrading Windows consoles.

Oracle® Enterprise Manager 10g Release 4 Grid Control (10.2.0.4.0) - Application Diagnostics for Java Version 2 supports manual upgrade of Oracle AD4J version 10.2.0.4. It does not support automatic upgrade of the previous installation.

Follow these steps to manually upgrade if you have a previous installation of Oracle AD4J console

Manual Upgrade of the Linux or Solaris Console:

  1. Undeploy the AD4J agents on the monitored app servers.

  2. Shut down the console.

  3. Unzip jamserv.zip (from appropriate lnx or sun directory) to the /tmp directory.

  4. Replace your existing jamserv/jam directory with /tmp/jamserv/jam.

  5. Restart the console.

  6. Log into the console, navigate to the Download Agent page, and rebuild the wars.

  7. Download the agent and deploy to the monitored app servers.

Manual Upgrade of the Windows Console

  1. Undeploy the AD4J agents on the monitored Application Servers.

  2. Shut down the console.

  3. Unzip ad4j_10.2.0.4.0_win32_upg.zip to jamserv directory..

  4. Restart the console.

  5. Log into the console, navigate to the Download Agent page, and rebuild the wars.

  6. Download the agent and deploy to the monitored Application Servers.
