Known Issues

This section lists the known issues pertaining to this release.

Monitoring files on a shared network drive

For real-time monitoring of file changes, Configuration Change Console agent needs to be installed on the device hosting the shared file store.

For instances where this cannot be done - such as with a mapped drive on a Unix machine from a storage appliance - snapshot based monitoring can be used. Setup details are included in the Quick Start Guide.

Support for EMC Symmetrix or Netapp Filer

Please refer to the above issue, which also pertains to EMC Symmetrix or Netapp Filer monitoring support.

Timestamp for changes are rounded up to the closest second

Configuration Change Console will report every event visible to the operating system. For certain file modifications, timestamps are rounded up to the closest second, rather than displayed in milliseconds. As such, it is possible that some events may have the same timestamp, giving the appearance that the system is capturing duplicate file change events.

Manual authorization of change events

Configuration Change Console allows integration with Change Management Systems but currently it does not provide manual facility for marking events as authorized.

SQL Server trace data not collected if only one pattern type selected

For component "SQL Server 2000 (SQL Trace)", all four available pattern types - user, sqltext, appname and host - must be selected to enable data collection. If only one pattern type is selected, no data is collected.

Product does not work properly under National Language Support (NLS) environment

The current release assumes US English, and does not work properly with any other language settings.

Database creation scripts fail when NLS_LANG is not set to AMERICAN_AMERICA

Database creations scripts (DBCreateEE.bat or DBCreateEE.sh) fail if NLS_LANG is not set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.

To work around this issue:

  1. Open a Sqlplus session against the gateway database logged in as gateway.

  2. Run the following statement:

    alter session set nls_language=AMERICAN

  3. Re-launch the script that failed.

(Bug 7415574)

Product does not support multi-byte strings

Entering a multi-byte string in any of the text fields will result in garbled data. The reason is that the program cannot decode multi-byte strings.

Documentation Accessibility

Our goal is to make Oracle products, services, and supporting documentation accessible, with good usability, to the disabled community. To that end, our documentation includes features that make information available to users of assistive technology. This documentation is available in HTML format, and contains markup to facilitate access by the disabled community. Accessibility standards will continue to evolve over time, and Oracle is actively engaged with other market-leading technology vendors to address technical obstacles so that our documentation can be accessible to all of our customers. Accessibility of Code Examples in Documentation

Screen readers may not always correctly read the code examples in this document. The conventions for writing code require that closing braces should appear on an otherwise empty line; however, some screen readers may not always read a line of text that consists solely of a bracket or brace.

Accessibility of Links to External Web Sites in Documentation

This documentation may contain links to Web sites of other companies or organizations that Oracle does not own or control. Oracle neither evaluates nor makes any representations regarding the accessibility of these Web sites.
