Example of Creating Multiple Kits of the Same Type

If you need to distribute multiple files to different directories, you should create a kit of the appropriate type Client Customer Revision for each destination directory. You should set the values of the Minimum Old Version and Maximum Old Version settings of the upgrade kits so that they create an unbroken sequence.

The following example uses the Customer Revision kit type. Keep in mind that the same logic can be used for other types of kits when there is a need to distribute multiple kits of the same type.

Create the first kit as usual (for example, Minimum Old Version and Maximum Old Version should be set to blank, New Version = 1).

For the next kit set Minimum Old Version = 1, Maximum Old Version = 1, New Version = 2, and so forth.

If you have to skip a version number for some reason, then set the Minimum Old Version and Maximum Old Version values appropriately. Always set the Minimum Old Version so that it matches the New Version of the previous active kit.

In this example, you need three kits, but Kit 2 was skipped because it contained one wrong file. The version information would be as shown in Table 33.
