Siebel Field Service Guide > Agreements > Process of Setting Up Agreements > Defining Pricing for AgreementsSeveral types of pricing can be defined for agreements:
NOTE: See Agreements for information on how pricing has changed in version 7.8. When a product is added to an agreement line item or another asset is added, the Product Selection and Pricing (PSP) Engine is now selected to ascertain the price of the selected product. Defining Asset-Based PricingFor an agreement line item, the combination of a product (typically a service product, specified in the Product field) and an asset (specified in the Asset # field) determines a unique price. This capability is named asset-based pricing. For more information, see Line Items View. Asset-based pricing is used for pricing products related to assets that a customer has already purchased. Clicking the Reprice and Reprice All buttons activates the Pricing Engine, which calculates the price of the product and asset combination, retrieving the price from the price list, or price list entry, and supply information on volume discounts. NOTE: The Pricer module is required if you wish to perform special pricing on products based on assets.
Defining Service-Based PricingCustomers often require an after-sales service package for the products they are purchasing. This requirement is included in the quote or order. As an administrator, you can define a service package to cover a set of products with the price of the service package, either as a percentage of the product being covered or as a fixed price. The combination of the service package and the product being covered allows the price to be calculated. This practice is known as service-based pricing. Service pricing on covered assets is managed using the Pricing Procedure - Calculate Net Price workflow. See Pricing Administration Guide for more information about pricing procedures and setting up service pricing. To create a service package for service-based pricing
Defining Order or Quote Entitlement-Based PricingOrders and quotes can have associated entitlements that provides special pricing for all line items in the order and quote. This capability is also known as contract-based pricing. NOTE: By default, entitlement-based pricing is not enabled in Field Service. The Pricer module is required if you wish to perform special pricing on products based on their entitlements. Order and quote entitlement-based pricing is managed through the Pricing Procedure - Calculate Net Price workflow. See Pricing Administration Guide for more information about pricing procedures and the Product Selection and Pricing (PSP) engine. To generate contract-based pricing of orders
