Troubleshooting the ODBC Data Source Connection


This section describes troubleshooting steps for your ODBC data source connection.

NOTE:  If your database is DB2 UDB for z/OS, see Implementing Siebel Business Applications on DB2 UDB for z/OS.

Oracle

Complete the instructions that follow to troubleshoot Oracle connection problems on Windows.

To troubleshoot a failed ODBC connection

  1. Verify that the ODBC driver was correctly installed by reviewing the file structure under SIEBEL_ROOT/BIN.
  2. If the files have been correctly copied to the BIN subdirectory, verify that the Oracle connect string that you entered during Siebel Server configuration was valid.

Microsoft SQL Server

Complete the instructions that follow to troubleshoot MS SQL Server connection problems on Windows.

To troubleshoot a failed ODBC connection

  1. Verify that the ODBC driver was correctly installed by reviewing the file structure under SIEBEL_ROOT\BIN.
  2. If the files have been correctly copied to the BIN subdirectory, verify that the data source name (SiebSrvr_EnterpriseName) that you entered during Siebel Server configuration was valid.
