Uninstalling Siebel Servers or the Siebel Enterprise

You can use one of the following methods to invoke the Uninstaller:

  • Using Windows Add/Remove Programs
  • Using the uninstaller.exe executable program

CAUTION:  When uninstalling servers, always uninstall the Siebel Gateway Name Server last, after all Siebel Servers in the Siebel Enterprise have been removed, and only stop the Siebel Server; the Uninstallation Wizard automatically stops the Siebel Gateway Name Server. If you do stop the Siebel Gateway Name Server prior to uninstall, you will receive the following error message: Errors were encountered while changing the configuration in the following steps: RmNSDef, RmNSEntDef.

NOTE:  You cannot uninstall Language Packs selectively from your servers. If you must uninstall a particular Language Pack, you must uninstall the Siebel Server on which it is installed and reinstall it with the correct Language Pack or Packs.

To uninstall using Add or Remove Programs

  1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select the Siebel Enterprise Servers full uninstall option that applies to the server you want to remove and click Change/Remove.
  3. To confirm uninstallation, on the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Siebel Enterprise Server screen, click Next.
  4. Select the products from the menu that you want to uninstall and click Next.

NOTE:  You can choose to uninstall all server products at the same time, or you can choose to uninstall products individually.

The uninstaller displays the location and the name of each product you selected for uninstallation.

    • If not correct, click Back and select a different product on the previous screen. (This is also your last chance to cancel uninstallation. Once you click Next in this screen, you must allow uninstallation to proceed without canceling.)
    • If this is correct, click Next.

If you selected the Siebel Server for uninstallation, the Specify Removal Options screen appears.

  5. Indicate which of the following you want to uninstall and click Next:
    • Siebel Server
    • Siebel Enterprise

The Server Removal Options screen appears.

  6. Indicate which services you want removed from the registry by either accepting the defaults, or deselecting a service, and click Next.

If you selected the Siebel Gateway Name Server for uninstallation, the Gateway Name Server screen appears.

  7. On the Gateway Name Server screen, indicate the following, and then click Next:

Gateway Name Server. Type the name of the Siebel Gateway Name Server you are uninstalling.

Siebel Enterprise. Type the name of this Siebel Enterprise.

    The Siebel Server screen appears.

  8. Confirm the name of the Siebel Server displayed as the one for removal and click Next.

If this is not the name of the server you want to remove, type the correct name.

The Configuration Parameter Review screen appears.

  9. Review these values for accuracy and perform the following:
    1. If you need to correct any values, click Previous to back out through the configuration screens until you reach the location of the incorrect value.
    2. When you have corrected the error, click Next until you reach the list on this screen again.
    3. When you are satisfied, click Next.

NOTE:  You may see additional prompts asking whether you want to uninstall specific files or continue with removal of a modified installation.

The uninstaller displays the following message:

The InstallShield Wizard has successfully uninstalled Siebel Enterprise Server. Choose Finish to exit the wizard.

  10. Click Finish.
  11. If prompted, restart your server.

To uninstall by running uninstaller.exe

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to SIEBEL_ROOT\_uninst\ses directory.
  2. Double-click uninstaller.exe.

The uninstaller displays a progress bar to show the initialization of the Uninstaller. To complete uninstallation, perform steps shown in the previous procedure, starting with Step 3.
