Store-and-Forward Messaging Message Protocols
Store-and-Forward Messaging messages fall into two basic categories: messages sent from a Siebel Server to a Siebel Handheld application and messages sent from a Siebel Handheld application to a Siebel Server.
- Outbound Server Messages. Generated on a Siebel Server for delivery to a Siebel Handheld application.
- Data Message. Contains record-level data from a single business component and its related child business components.
- Ping Message. Used to determine whether a Siebel Handheld application is connected with the Siebel Server.
- Acknowledgement Message. Indicates that a server inbound message has been successfully received and processed.
- Error Message. Informs the target Siebel Handheld application that a server inbound message was not successfully handled on the server side or other error conditions.
- Inbound Server Messages. Generated on a Siebel Handheld application for delivery to a Siebel Server.
- Request Message. Used to request data for a single business component record, or a set of specific business component records.
- Invoke Message. Used to invoke a business service command on the server side.
- Transaction Message. Specifies record-level insertion, update, association, and deletion transactions.
