Reviewing Room Block Discounts

Discounts may be applied to room blocks and line items through volume discounts, a matrix series, or by manually applying a discount to a function line item. For more information about volume discounts and matrix series, see Discount Pricing Administration. You can view the discount amount for each individual room block line item and also the total discount for the room block through the Quotes > Room Blocks view. When you have viewed the discounts applied to a function and its line items, you can decide whether or not the discount is appropriate. If you want to manually override all prices and apply a manual discount price, see Applying a Discount Price to Room Block Line Items

To view the discount amount for a room block line item

1. Navigate to the Quotes screen > Quotes List view.
2. In the Quotes list, query for and select the required quote record.
3. Click the link in the Name field, and then click the Room Blocks tab.
4. In the Room Blocks list, select the required room block.
5. Scroll down to the Room Blocks Line Items tab, and select the required line item.
6. Examine the value in the Discount Amount field.

   This value is the summation of all discounts that are applied to the individual line items plus the discount percentage applied to the room block.

To view the total discount amount for a room block

1. Navigate to the Quotes screen > Quotes List view.
2. In the Quotes list, query for and select the required quote record.
3. Click the link in the Name field, and then click the Room Blocks tab.
4. In the Room Blocks list, select the required function.
5. Examine the value in the Total Discount field.

   The Total Discount field is equal to the summation of the Line Items Discounts plus the Negotiation Rates discount.
