Siebel Remote and Replication Manager Administration Guide > Configuring the Remote Client > Limiting the Views That a Remote Client DisplaysThis task is a step in Process of Configuring the Remote Client. This topic includes the following topics:
You can use one or more of these topics to limit how Siebel Remote displays views in the remote client To optimize the size of the local database for a user, you assign that user to a routing model. To match the data that Siebel Remote routes to the user, you can limit the views that the user can access. It is recommended that you limit views for all users except users who use the Standard routing models or models that are similar to the Standard models, such as the Life Sciences User routing model. Determining the views a user can access depends on the responsibilities that you assign to that user and on the views that you assign to each responsibility. Each view that is associated with a responsibility includes a Local Access flag. To limit access to a view, you can turn off the Local Access flag for the view that a particular user does not require. This limitation applies only if the user uses a remote client. This limitation does not apply if the user uses the standard Siebel Web client. |
