Siebel File System

The Siebel File System is a file system that stores attachments, correspondence, templates, and other types of unstructured data for the user through the File System Manager server component. A connected user accesses files from the Siebel File System. A connected user is a user who connects directly to the Siebel Server. The Siebel Server can transfer files between the user and the file system during synchronization.

The File System Manager server component manages the Siebel File System, handles interplatform security, and handles most of the interaction with the Siebel File System in the Siebel application. The Synchronization Manager server component also interacts with the Siebel File System during synchronization sessions. The Web Client, Developer Web Client, and server components that require operations on files make requests through the Server Request Broker to the File System Manager.
