About the instanceconfig.xml File and Siebel Analytics Web Under UNIX

Several Siebel Analytics Web configuration settings are created by default during the installation process. These entries can be customized for your environment. Additionally, the Siebel Analytics Web administrator can add other configuration settings to control a variety of Siebel Analytics Web configuration characteristics. You need to make changes only if you want to change default parameters, such as the name of the Siebel Analytics Web Catalog, or override internal default settings, such as the time for client connections to expire.

The XML file instanceconfig.xml is used to hold configuration settings for Siebel Analytics Web under UNIX platforms. You can customize Siebel Analytics Web by modifying the entries in instanceconfig.xml and adding new entries to override internal default settings. For UNIX, this file is located at $INSTALLDIR/Data/web/config.

If you make changes, you must run certain shell scripts before the changes take effect. See Updating Configuration Settings (UNIX).

For information about the entries you can make to customize Siebel Analytics Web, and general information about customizing the instanceconfig.xml file in the UNIX environment, see Siebel Analytics Web Administration Guide.
