Installing the Informatica Server and Repository Server on Windows
Follow this procedure to install the Informatica Server and Repository Server. NOTE: You must install the Informatica Server and DAC server on the same machine, because the DAC server requires the Informatica utility pmcmd.
To install the Informatica Server on Windows
- Access the installation files on the installation CD-ROM, and run the program setup.exe.
- In the Informatica Platform Products Setup—User Information page, enter your registration information and click Next.
- In the Informatica Platform Products Setup—Select Components page check boxes, select PowerCenter 6 for Server.
- In the Edit Service Account dialog box, enter the domain, username, and password for the user account that will run the Informatica Server service.
- In the Choose Destination Location page, select the directory where you want to install the Informatica Server. Click Next.
NOTE: If you are using a Teradata database, make sure there are no spaces in the Informatica Server directory name or the directory path.
- When the installation is complete, in the Informatica Server Setup Application - Options page, select Exit.
NOTE: You will configure the Informatica Server later in the install process.
To install the Informatica Repository Server on Windows
- Access the installation files on the installation CD-ROM, and run the program setup.exe.
- In the Informatica Platform Products Setup—User Information page, enter your registration information.
- In the Informatica Platform Products Setup—Select Components page check boxes, select Informatica Repository Server.
- In the Edit Service Account dialog box, enter the domain, username, and password for the user account that will run the Informatica Repository Server service.
- In the Choose Destination Location page, select the directory where you want to install the Informatica Repository Server. Click Next.
- In the Configure Repository Server dialog box, enter the following:

Server Port Number |
The port number the Repository Server uses to connect to repository client applications. By default, this value is set to 5001. It is recommended that you use the default value. |
Administrator Password |
The password you use to connect to the Repository Server from the Repository Manager. It is recommended that you use Administrator as the password. |
- In the Setup Complete window, click Finish.
To install the Teradata patch on Windows
If you are using a Teradata database, you need to install the Teradata patch.
- Locate the Patch_for_Teradata subdirectory in the Informatica directory on the installation CD-ROM.
- Copy the contents from the Patch_for_Teradata\Windows directory to the Informatica Server bin directory.
It is recommended that you first rename the existing files in the bin directory.
- Copy the resword.txt file from the Patch_for_Teradata directory to the winnt\system32 directory.
