Importing a News Story


Authors and approvers can import news stories and associated graphics at the same time, and then modify the content using the Content Editor.

You can use the Insert File and the Insert Image tools to insert files (such as HTML files, MS Word files, and Adobe Acrobat) and graphics files from your local file system, from shared networks and from the Web. This task is a step in Process of Managing Group News.

To import a news story

  1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Group News Authoring > News Inbox.
  2. In the ERM Group News Item form (Information view tab), click New, and complete the fields.
  3. Click the Content Editing view tab, and then in the Content Editing form, click Import Article.
  4. In the Pick Content dialog box, click New.
  5. In the Insert Content dialog box, complete the fields.

    Click Advanced to see more fields.

    The following table describes some of the fields in the Insert Content dialog box.

    Field
    Comments

    Comments

    Type additional comments to describe the content.

    Content Type

    Specify the type of content you are adding. A list of available types appears when you click the select button.

    Filename

    Browse to the content you want to import.

    Lock

    A check mark in this field indicates that the content cannot be edited.

    Name

    Specify the name to use to be saved in Siebel Content Base.

    Title

    Specify the title to be saved in Siebel Content Base.

    URL

    Specify the URL that references the content you are importing.

  6. Click OK in the Insert Content dialog box, and then click OK again from the Pick Content dialog box.
