Installing Right-to-Left Images

  • To install the right-to-left version of certain images, you need to first install the Hebrew (HEB) language pack and then copy the files from <SWEApps Root or Tools Root>/PUBLIC/HEB/images to <SWEApps Root or Tools Root>/PUBLIC/XXX/images.Copy the ENU folder and manually alter the names of the images to swap them when there is a right/left or open/close designation. For example, change arrw_left.gif to arrw_right.gif. This method requires more user interface (UI) configuration and testing.

You need to do this because the user interface is using hundreds of images. An image on the screen is often made up of several separate pieces, with each piece coming from a separate image file. For example, most buttons on the screen are made up of a left, middle, and right piece. This creates a particular issue for bi-directional capability, because the browser must mirror the image within each individual bitmap when the direction changes to right-to-left.

To solve this issue, your Siebel eBusiness Applications come with separate mirrored images for bitmaps.
