Adding a Partner Record by Approving a Partner Company


If a partner company registered at your Web site to apply to be a partner, you must approve it as the first step of entering it in your Siebel application. Approving the company moves it from the Prospective Partners list to the Partners list.

To approve a partner company

  1. Navigate to the Partner Administration screen.
  2. From the Show drop-down list, choose Prospective Partners, if it is not already selected.

    The Prospective Partners list appears.

  3. In the record of the prospective partner that you want to approve, click the Approve icon (which is in the Approve column).

    The Prospective Partner record is converted to a Partner record, and the Approved Partners list appears.

NOTE:  In some cases, you can just approve a partner company and skip the steps that follow this one. Do this only if the partner company is not using the Siebel Partner Portal, and you are using Siebel PRM only to keep track of the partner company, not to share information with it. You can still work with the partner company record using the Siebel Partner Manager: the channel manager can view the company's records in the Partner screen and can also use the Siebel Partner Manager to request MDF funding for the company.
