Registering Individual Partners

When public users register as individual partners, they click the New User link on the home page, which lets them register using the following forms:

• Personal Information. The users enter their name, email, time zone, a user name and password, and a challenge question in case they forget their password.
• Contact Information. The users enter additional contact info such as Job Title, Address, and phone number.
• Select Register Company or Register Self. The users click one of two buttons to select which type of registration they want.
• Company Information. The users enter information about the partner company:
  • For individual registration, only the company name and address are required.
  • For company registration, many more fields are required, to give you detailed information about the partner company, its business, and its interest in partnering with your company, to let you decide whether it should be in your partner program.
• Terms and Agreements. The users click I Agree to accept the terms and agreements that are displayed.
• Thank You Message. The users click Finish to log in to the Individual User home page.

After they fill out the registration forms, they are automatically registered as individual partners, who can view product literature and self-service screens and can purchase products through the Siebel Partner Portal.

Individual partners cannot share opportunities, service requests, activities, or any other transactional data through the Siebel Partner Portal. However, people who have registered as an individual partner can later apply to have their companies certified as partner companies, and employees of the companies would be able to share this data. They apply by displaying the Profile screen and changing the application type to Company.

To configure Siebel PRM for individual partners, you should go through the following process:

• Configure the individual partner home page (optional).
• Provide visibility to literature, product offers, and other data to individual partners.
• Customize the email that is sent to thank people for registering as individual partners.
