Process of Installing Siebel Reports Server


Using the Siebel Reports Server Installer, the Siebel Reports Server and its associated components are installed in the following order:

Server

  • Actuate iServer and Management Console for Siebel
  • Actuate Active Portal JSP and Reports View Adapter for Siebel

The following Actuate client products can be used to create and modify reports. These products can be found for installation in the Windows\Client_Ancillary\actuate\language directory, where language is the code for the Language Pack you installed (for example, enu for U.S. English).

Client

  • (Optional) Actuate e.Report Designer Professional
  • (Optional) Actuate e.Report Designer

About the Installation of the Siebel Reports Server

The following installation steps apply whether all components of the Siebel Reports Server are installed on the same machine or on multiple machines.

To install the Siebel Reports Server, perform the following tasks:

  1. Before installing the Reports Server, set up a UNIX account for the Reports Administrator. See Preinstallation Tasks for the Siebel Reports Server.
  2. Review preinstallation requirements. See Preinstallation Tasks for the Siebel Reports Server.
  3. Install the Siebel Reports Server. See Installing the Siebel Reports Server.

    Installing the Siebel Reports Server includes the following components:

    • Actuate iServer and Management Console for Siebel
    • Active Portal JSP and the Reports View Adapter for Siebel

      The two components can be installed together or separately.

  4. Confirm the installation was successful. See Confirming a Successful Installation of the Actuate iServer Components.
  5. Perform postinstallation tasks. See Postinstallation Tasks for the Siebel Reports Server.
  6. Install additional designing products for creating Siebel reports if needed. See Installing Additional Modules.
